On Thursday, November 27th, we hosted a session at our Puerto Madero offices with women and gender-diverse people from Flux IT, clients, and leaders from the tech community to share an afternoon of reflection and dialogue on the challenges of building safer and more equitable environments within our industry.
The session was led by political scientist and author Florencia Freijo, who shared her talk “Real Leadership, Safer Spaces: Towards a more Diverse Tech Culture” with us. The meetup opened with remarks from Alfonsina Chesini, director and co-founder of Flux IT, who highlighted the importance of identifying barriers and inequalities within our work contexts and invited everyone to rethink them collectively.

Networked Leadership
This year, the Great Place to Work ranking recognized us as one of the best workplaces for women, a milestone that encourages us to continue strengthening actions and exchanges that shape our culture. In this context, we invited Florencia Freijo to help us rethink the role of women in the IT sector.
During her talk, we reflected on how social mandates and cultural representations influence the way we perceive leadership, authority, and competence in women from this sector, and how these forces can limit their expectations and opportunities in the professional world.
“Representations are not natural; they are constructed. From a very young age, we learn to associate certain attributes—such as power, efficiency, or authority—with masculinity, even when there is no real difference in abilities or performance. These early associations shape what we believe is possible and what we feel is legitimate for us in the professional world.” – Florencia Freijo

We also explored the visible and invisible barriers that affect the careers of women and gender-diverse people, such as lower recognition of their skills, biases in recruitment processes, fear of negotiation, the emotional cost of setting boundaries, and the lack of role models in positions of authority, thus understanding internal policies as a key factor in enabling safer work experiences, supporting development, and promoting cultures capable of sustaining long-term change.
“It is not enough to be present; we need to be integrated. Many organizations celebrate the entry of women but overlook the conditions that make them want to stay. Good intentions foster participation, but they do not transform structures, languages, or protocols. When culture marginalizes, inequality reproduces itself.” – Florencia Freijo
Transforming Together
These meetups not only reinforce our commitment to creating spaces for open dialogue but also encourage us to continue examining and transforming the practices and logics that still reproduce inequality, and to move towards a more fair and inclusive tech industry.
“Culture is one of our core strengths, and we build it every day by striving to create positive work experiences. This gathering emerged from the need to recognize what we still need to transform in the tech sector and to enable a space where we can listen to one another, share what we are experiencing, and build more collaborative leadership networks together.” –Alfonsina Chesini, director and co-founder of Flux IT

At Flux IT, we believe that “Soy”, our diversity program, gives us a clear purpose: to continue fostering work environments where integration—and not merely presence—is a reality for every talent, within a culture where leadership is shared and people can grow from a place of authenticity.
